Dr. Joseph M. Latham – Chief Operations Officer

Dr. Joseph M. Latham, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and retired U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant with over 15 years of distinguished military service, including five combat deployments and missions across the globe. Recognized as a Purple Heart recipient, his extensive military career shaped his commitment to resilience, leadership, and advocacy.

Dr. Latham earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2022, following a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. His advanced training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, enhancing his expertise in trauma-focused treatments.

As Owner of Seahorse Psychology, Dr. Latham provides psychological and neuropsychological assessments, along with evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR. He specializes in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, addiction, and cultural issues, offering both virtual and in-person appointments to accommodate diverse client needs.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Latham serves as a Clinical Psychologist at the Department of Veterans Affairs, delivering mental health services to veterans. He also contributes as a Consulting Psychologist for the California Forensic Assessment Project, conducting psychological assessments for forensic populations.

Dr. Latham’s professional experience includes research in the MOVE! Program, a national VA initiative addressing obesity and weight loss in veterans. His work focuses on identifying predictors of successful weight loss and exploring behavioral interventions that promote sustainable health outcomes for veterans struggling with obesity. He has presented findings from this research at national conferences and contributed to publications in the field.

As a dedicated advocate for minority and underserved communities, Dr. Latham’s work is driven by a passion for fostering resilience and cultural understanding. His global military experiences highlighted the importance of human connection, strength, and adaptability—insights that led him to write Transgenerational Resiliency: Unlock the Strength in Your DNA. This book reflects his mission to empower individuals and communities by unlocking their inherent strengths and addressing intergenerational challenges. Dr. Latham’s leadership, clinical expertise, and personal experiences position him as a compassionate and effective advocate for mental health and well-being.
