Wade M. Kotschwar, MBA, is a U.S. Navy veteran and seasoned professional in both the healthcare and construction sectors, bringing a unique blend of leadership, technical skill, and veteran advocacy to his role as a board member of OPERATION SHIELD.
Wade served honorably in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, gaining firsthand experience supporting service members through the physical and emotional challenges of military life. This foundation in military medicine fostered a lifelong commitment to supporting the veteran community, particularly those navigating the effects of PTSD and the complex transition to civilian life.
Currently, Wade serves as a Territory Sales Manager at Gaumard Scientific, a global leader in high-fidelity medical simulation technology. In this role, he works closely with hospitals, educators, and training institutions to implement life-saving simulation tools that prepare healthcare professionals for real-world medical scenarios. His work directly supports the advancement of trauma-informed care and medical readiness—two areas critical to the health and recovery of veterans.
Previously, Wade held leadership roles in the construction industry, including as a senior estimator and independent contractor, and has experience directing workforce development efforts in higher education. His career has been defined by adaptability, mentorship, and a passion for bridging gaps between technical professions and human-centered service.
As a board member of OPERATION SHIELD, Wade applies his professional expertise to help veterans pursue careers in the skilled trades and allied health professions. His dual background in construction and healthcare, along with his military service, gives him a unique perspective on how to connect veterans with fulfilling and sustainable career paths. He is a dedicated advocate for career transition, vocational training, and the mental health needs of veterans and their families.
